Stuff I made
SMU Reading Series Branding
Back in the heady days of 2009, when I was an undergrad student for the second time, I told my professors that I could build them a website without any special software. It was very bright green and completely hand-coded in Notepad (HTML and CSS).
I also made a tri-fold brochure in Microsoft Word and a trusty old copy of Paintshop Pro, as well as grayscale advertising posters that I stapled to cork boards on campus when no one was looking.
I wouldn’t make the same design choices today, but I’m impressed by how weirdly hardcore the whole thing was. It just goes to show that, if you’re determined enough, you can make something cool with the tools you have at hand.
